LANCE BLISTERS tech rider. Not all points are mandatory... Lance is flexible enough to accomodate a variety of situations. However knowing as much as possible in advance about the technical situation will let him be completely prepared.
Please respond to the numbered questions, eg:
A1 - N (four inputs, but unbalanced)
A2 - Y
A3 - 28hz
A4 - ? (do not know)
A5 - ?
etc.
LANCE BLISTERS is currently a two-man band, with Lance on Audio and Ilan on Video.
LANCE BLISTERS requires about 20 minutes setup time, and 10 minutes to soundcheck.
Audio:
- LANCE will bring the following audio gear:
- MIDI guitar
- Footswitch
- Audio rack
- Laptop
- Mic and Stand
- Guitar, footswitch and mic stand will be center stage during Lance's set. Audio rack and laptop should be offstage, backstage, or somewhere else out of the way but within 15 ft of center stage. Lance will bring all cables to connect guitar/footswitch/mic to his audio rack.
- Audio rack will have 4 1/4" balanced line-level outputs (stereo track, stereo vocals) with a few feet of cable length. Lance expects four channels of snake, DI, or mixer inputs to be available near the Audio Rack, and that these accept balanced inputs.
| A1) Will there be 4 balanced line-level 1/4" audio inputs near Lance's audio rack? | ____ |
- Lance expects a sound person will be available to fine-tune track and vocals levels. If this is not the case, alert Lance in advance so he can arrange for someone.
| A2) Will there be a sound person on duty during Lance's set? | ____ |
- Lance expects the sound system to reproduce 35hz bass sounds. If this is not the case, please alert Lance in advance so he can reprogram the songs as necessary.
| A3) What is the lowest frequency reproduced by the sound system? | ____ |
- Lance benefits greatly from a stage monitor. Better if the monitor can have its own track/vocal levels set.
| A4) Will the venue provide one or more stage monitors? | ____ |
| A5) Can the mixer provide a seperate mix to the monitor? | ____ |
- Lance expects there will be a soundcheck the day of gig.
| A6) What time is soundcheck? | ____ |
- After soundcheck, Lance can easily keep his guitar/mic/footswitch offstage until his set. However it is best if the audio rack can remain stationary.
Video:
- LANCE will bring the following video gear:
- MIDI trigger pads
- Pen tablet
- Laptop
- Need video station on side of stage, middle or back of room, from which the projection screen can be seen. Requires 2 ft. by 2 ft. of table space near an electrical outlet.
| V1) Will this table space be provided? | ____ |
- Prefer visuals to be projected full-screen on back of stage. Mic stand should be centered in image.
- If projector will not be provided, alert Lance in advance so other plans can be made.
| V2) Will there be a projector available in the performance space? | ____ |
- If back of stage is not a white wall or screen, alert Lance in advance so other plans can be made.
| V3) Is the back wall a suitable projection surface, or is a screen provided? | ____ |
- The visualist will require a VGA or S-Video cable running from his station to the projector.
| V4) If a cable is provided, is it VGA or S-Video? | ____ |
- The visualist needs a clear line of sight to the screen (and to Lance standing within the screen.) The projector needs to be sufficiently far that the image can fill the screen, and Lance should stand closer to screen than projector, to minimize the size of his shadow onscreen.
